Vintage Train

Matt told me about the vintage trains a couple weeks ago. This afternoon he suggested we run into the city to see if we could catch it...

Matt & Hilary

What I read online: Every Sunday throughout December, the MTA has operated six-car trains from the 1930s & 1940s on the V line, running from Queens Plaza to Second Avenue in Manhattan. The old cars are usually stored at the New York City Transit Museum in Brooklyn Heights.

Matt and I were lucky - we caught the train at Broadway and Lafayette and were on the last ride to Queens and back.

Here is the conductor... I almost got left on the platform because I was busy taking this photo.

What did I learn today?

The vintage train is not a place for me to meet men. Don't get me wrong...there were PLENTY of men. But I got the feeling that their interest in the trains was greater than their interest in women. ;)

AND

84 out of 100 women prefer men who wear hats. (My dad must have seen this at some point...)

Bet you do better in a hat...

If you haven't done it, put it on your calendar for next year... :)

Matt got some great photos! His camera took them vintage-style! ;) See them all here.

And the rest of my photos are here.
