4:32p - board subway - Q train - from 7th Ave ($2)
5:01p - arrive 34th St. (slight delay because train ahead had emergency brake pulled)
5:17p - board NJ Transit train to Newark Airport stop ($15 includes Air Train - buy ticket before boarding or they will charge $5 extra)
5:24p - leave New York Penn Station
5:53p - arrive Newark Airport stop and transfer to Air Train
5:55p - board Air Train
6:05p - arrive Terminal B
6:06p - arrive International Arrivals
TOTAL COST: $17
TOTAL TIME: 1 hour, 41 minutes
It took some time, but was easy & comfortable.

Hey, thanks for posting this! Believe it or not, these are the clearest instructions I was able to google for getting from Brooklyn to Newark...certainly much better than the Newark Airport site offers. Kudos!

This looks great! Quick question: did you have to surface and walk from the Q exit (34th St. Herald Sq) to Penn Station? I'm thinking of taking the 2/3 straight there. Thanks!
I've taken the 2/3 as well... Definitely would when it's cold and/or weather-y!
